Cyan Limited posts Rs137m half-year profit

August 26, 2025 (MLN): Cyan Limited (PSX: CYAN) shared its financial results for the half-year ended June 30, 2025 and recorded a profit after tax of Rs137.3 million, compared to Rs161.8m in the same period last year which showed a 15.2% decline.

The company’s earnings per share (EPS) stood at Rs2.23, down from Rs2.63 in 1HFY24.

Return on investments grew by 8.7% YoY to Rs62.75m, while the company incurred a net loss on sale of investments of Rs49.81m, versus a gain of Rs139.1m last year.

However, a strong gain on remeasurement of investments classified as financial assets at fair value through profit or loss of Rs194.16m, compared to a loss of Rs2.35m last year, lifted total income to Rs208.32m, up 6.4% YoY.

On the expense side, operating and administrative expenses fell by 17.1% to Rs14.84m, while other expenses stood at Rs3.87m. Total expenses increased slightly by 4.5% to Rs18.71m.

Consequently, profit before taxation rose by 6.6% YoY to Rs180.90m. Taxation expenses, however, surged to Rs43.6m, which eroded the bottom line.
