Crescent Star Insurance targets 38% holding in S.G. Power Limited

August 18, 2025 (MLN): Crescent Star Insurance Limited (PSX: CSIL) has formally expressed its intention to acquire a significant stake in S.G. Power Limited, according to a notice submitted by Intermarket Securities Limited, the Manager to the Offer.

The acquirer plans to purchase approximately 6.79 million ordinary shares, representing about 38.05 percent of the total issued and paid-up capital of S.G. Power Limited.

The move marks a major development in the energy sector, as CSIL expands its investment footprint into power generation.

CSIL incorporated in 1957, is one of Pakistan’s leading non-life insurance providers.

The company offers a broad range of general insurance services, including Fire and property damage, Marine, Aviation and Transport, Motor, Credit & Suretyship, Accident & Health, and Miscellaneous insurance.
