China’s Xinning Enterprise to invest at Gwadar Port

August 6, 2025 (MLN): A major boost to Gwadar’s development
is on the horizon as China’s Xinning Enterprise has signed a Letter of Intent
with the Gwadar Port Authority to invest in large-scale industrial and
commercial projects at the strategic port and its Free Zone.
The agreement outlines plan to transform Gwadar Port into a
regional transshipment hub, introduce new industrial ventures, enhance existing
infrastructure within the Free Zone, and facilitate the relocation of
industries to the area.
The Letter of Intent was signed by Yi Jiang on behalf of
Xinning Enterprise and received by Umer Zaffar Shaikh, Additional Secretary of
the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, representing the Chairman of the Gwadar Port
Authority.
During their visit, the Chinese delegation led by Yi Jiang
also met with Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Muhammad Junaid Anwar
Chaudhry, to explore strategies for improving port operations and attracting
further investment.
Minister Chaudhry reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to
positioning Gwadar as a global maritime gateway and a future industrial powerhouse,
he further emphasized the port’s strategic significance in regional
connectivity and trade.
