December 11, 2025 (MLN): Ashfaq Textile Mills Limited (PSX: ASHT) is suspending operations of 85 Sulzer looms out of its total capacity of 243 looms due to unfavorable market conditions in the textile sector.

The Board of Directors made this decision during their meeting held on December 11, 2025.

The affected looms are located at the company's production facility situated at 18th km, Faisalabad Jaranwala Road, Faisalabad.

According to the company's official statement to PSX, the decision stems from a drastic decline in demand for woven fabrics. The company cited the need to reduce forced sales of fabrics as a primary motivation for the capacity reduction.

"This reduction in production capacity would help in reduction of forced sales of fabrics as the demand of woven fabrics has drastically gone down," the company stated in its disclosure.

At the time of writing, the share price of ASHT was Rs22.29, down Rs1.17, or 4.99%.
