Jet Green Airlines enters operational readiness phase

May 16, 2026 (MLN): Jet Green Private Limited has moved into the operational readiness phase following years of regulatory delays, after the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) successfully cleared the path for the long-stalled $30 million private airline project.

The development marks a significant milestone for Pakistan's aviation sector, as the project which had remained pending for nearly a decade has now cleared all major hurdles, including licensing requirements, safety vetting, and the issuance of commercial permits.

The SIFC played a central role in breaking the deadlock by coordinating among relevant regulatory and government institutions, bringing greater transparency and efficiency to the approval process, according to Radio Pakistan.

The the entry of a new private carrier will inject much-needed competition into Pakistan's aviation market, potentially driving improvements in service quality and airfare pricing for consumers, while also signaling growing confidence in private sector investment.
