Weekly SCRA records net purchase of Rs2.8bn

November 24, 2023 (MLN): The net purchase of securities for the week ended November 17, 2023, clocked in at Rs2.8 billion, as compared to a net sale worth Rs220.6m recorded last week, according to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

During the week, the gross sale of securities was recorded at Rs8.51bn, which is around 31.17% higher than the figures recorded last week.

Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs11.3bn, which is 80.41% higher than the prior week, resulting in a net purchase of Rs2.8bn for the week.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities increased by Rs5.04bn while the net sale of securities increased by Rs2.02bn.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs5.22bn, while its outflow has been reported at Rs2.52bn.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs25.82bn, which marks a rise of Rs496.39m over the week.
