Weekly SCRA records net purchase of Rs2.53bn

March 20, 2024 (MLN): The net purchase of securities for the week ended March 08, 2024 clocked in at Rs2.53 billion, as compared to a net purchase worth Rs1.91bn recorded last week, according to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

During the week, the gross sale of securities was recorded at Rs10.57bn, which is around 2.97x higher than the figures recorded last week.

Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs13.1bn, which is 2.4x higher than the prior week, resulting in a net purchase of Rs2.53bn for the week.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities increased by Rs7.63bn while the net sale of securities increased by Rs7bn.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs6.63bn, while its outflow has been reported at Rs4.11bn.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs24.14bn, which marks a rise of Rs7.38m over the week.
