Weekly SCRA records net purchase of Rs1.49bn

Foreign investors buy Rs2.51bn worth of securities via SCRA

February 23, 2024 (MLN): The net purchase of securities for the week ended February 16, 2024 clocked in at Rs1.49bn, as compared to a net purchase worth Rs1.47bn recorded last week, according to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

During the week, the gross sale of securities was recorded at Rs4.13bn, which is around 101.64% higher than the figures recorded last week.

Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs5.62bn, which is 59.8% higher than the prior week, resulting in a net purchase of Rs1.49bn for the week.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities increased by Rs2.1bn while the net sale of securities increased by Rs2.08bn.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs2.38bn, while its outflow has been reported at Rs677.65m.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs24.16bn, which marks a rise of Rs214.55m over the week.
