Water reserves plunge at an alarming rate: IRSA

October 11, 2018 (MLN): Pakistan’s water reserves have been plummeting at a distressing rate. During the first 11 days of October, the water reserves have sharply declined by around 20%.

The reserves at Tarbela have fallen by 21% to 2663 million acre feet (MAF) whereas those at Mangla have sunken by 18%, to 2097 MAF.

The country’s total water reserves stand at 4875 MAF
