VISA’s expansion in Pakistan applauded for advancing digital payments

April 25, 2025 (MLN): VISA’s growing footprint in Pakistan, including the tripling of its office size and strategic partnerships with 1-Link and PayPak, has drawn praise from the government for its impact on financial inclusion, e-commerce, secure transactions, and remittance facilitation.

During an engagement in Washington, D.C., Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb appreciated VISA’s role in accelerating the digital transformation of Pakistan’s economy through innovative financial products and infrastructure.

He noted that VISA’s collaboration with local payment networks is a critical step toward building a more secure, inclusive, and efficient digital payment ecosystem.

The Minister also assured VISA of the government’s full support in resolving any challenges it may face while operating in Pakistan.
