The National Assembly was informed on Thursday that vigorous efforts are being made to revamp Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

Responding to a question during the question hour, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Shaikh Aftab said new aircraft are being hired on dry and wet lease to provide better travelling facilities to passengers.

Replying to another question, Shaikh Aftab said expansion work at Quetta International Airport is in progress without disrupting the flight operation. He said seventy-five percent structures have been completed.

Minister of State for Information Technology Anusha Rehman informed the House that Pakistan will become a leading country in using 5G technology in South Asia by 2020.
