SECP registers 5,003 new companies in October

November 05, 2026 (MLN): The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) registered 5,003 new companies in October, bringing the total number of registered companies in the country to 321,794.

According to the SECP, 99.9% of the new companies were registered online. Private limited companies accounted for 55.4% of registrations, while single-member companies made up 41.6%.

Provincially, Punjab recorded the highest number of new registrations at 2,663, followed by Islamabad with 934 and Sindh with 751. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa registered 382 new companies, Gilgit-Baltistan 162 and Balochistan 111.

The Information Technology sector led registrations with 991 new companies, followed by Trading with 767, Services with 594 and Construction with 295.

Meanwhile, 219 companies were registered in Food and Beverages, 213 in Tourism and 170 in Real Estate.

The SECP said 173 foreign investors became directors in companies registered during October, while women's participation in company shareholding and directorship stood at 13%.

SECP Chairman Dr. Kabir Ahmed Sidhu said the increase in company registrations reflects growing investment in the country.

He said corporate compliance is being digitized to facilitate ease of doing business, adding that the creation of more new companies would generate additional employment opportunities in the country.
