Urea sales witness a rise of 45% in Aug

September 25, 2019 (MLN): Urea sales witnessed a rise of 45.01 percent during the month of August 2019 ,as the total offtake during this period stood at 625 thousand tonnes as compared to the same period of last year.

As per records maintained by the National Fertilizer Development Centre (NFDC), the biggest portion of overall offtake during the aforesaid period was sold in Punjab, where around 428 thousand tonnes were consumed. From the remaining amount, 152 thousand tonnes were sold in Sindh, 28 thousand tonnes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 17 thousand tonnes in Balochistan whereas no sales were made in AJK.

Total urea availability during August, 2019 was about 957 thousand tonnes, comprising 384 thousand tonnes of previous season leftover and 569 thousand tonnes of domestic production. Urea offtake during August, 2019 was about 625 thousand tonnes. The closing balance was about 334 thousand tonnes.
