National Savings Schemes see over Rs27bn inflow in May

July 05, 2025 (MLN): The net receipts of Savings Mobilized by National Savings Schemes (NSS) stood at Rs27.54 billion in May as compared to receipts of Rs30.64bn in the previous month, the latest data issued by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) showed.
Breaking down the figures, the Defence Saving Certificates (DSC) experienced a net outflow of Rs2.44bn in May 2025, indicating that more funds were withdrawn from DSCs than invested during this month.
Meanwhile, the Regular Income Certificates (RIC) recorded an inflow of Rs7.02bn, and Rs2.42bn was injected into the Special Savings Certificates (SSC).
Similarly, Rs1.81bn was injected into Prize Bonds.
Moreover, other savings categories within NSS recorded receipts totaling Rs18.74bn. It rose substantially as compared to Rs18.09bn in the previous month.
To note, in the fiscal year 2023, the net outflows from Savings Mobilized by NSS stood at Rs381.87bn, reflecting a consistent trend of net payments from these savings schemes during the year.
