Urea offtake records a decline of 6 percent, YoY

August 27, 2019 (MLN): Urea offtake during July 2019 was 465 thousand tonnes which recorded a decrease of 6.3 percent as compared to July, 2018.

During Kharif 2019, cumulative urea offtake increased by 0.9 percent as compared to same period of last year.

During July 2019, the offtake of urea decreased by 6 and 16 and percent in Punjab and Sindh respectively over July 2018. Its offtake increased by 41 percent in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and 33 percent in Balochistan.

Total available urea in July 2019 was about 845 thousand tonnes comprising of 178 thousand tonnes of opening inventory, 566 thousand tonnes of domestic production and 101 thousand tonnes of imported supplies. Total offtake of urea was about 465 thousand tonnes leaving behind 382 thousand tonnes of opening stock for August 2019.
