ECC okays continuation of PM’s Relief Package, KPK Sasta Atta initiative

November 16, 2022 (MLN): The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved the continuation of PM’s Relief Package (PMRP) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sasta Atta initiative from September 1 till November 1, 2022, on the existing model of untargeted subsidy at the prevailing rates, the statement issued by Finance Division on Tuesday said.

It also allowed the allocation of additional funds amounting to Rs4,908 million over and above the regular budgetary allocation through supplementary/technical supplementary grants to recoup the amount already spent by USC.

The ECC also allowed the continuation of PMRP on a hybrid model for a period from November 16 to June 30, 2023 (Excluding Ramzan) and the allocation of funds to the tune of Rs10,755 million through supplementary/technical supplementary grant and continuation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sasat Atta initiative and provision of subsidized Atta from November 16, 2022, to June 30, 2023, after rationalizing a number of stores, with the allocation of funds of Rs. 1,560.68 million through supplementary/technical supplementary grant.

The summary on the continuation of the Prime Minister’s Relief Package (PMRP) and Sasta Atta initiative for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa beyond 31st August 2022 was submitted by the Ministry of Industries and Production.

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar presided over the said meeting.
