Govt eyes 6m-tonne wheat reserves, Rs4,500 support price
The government has proposed a wheat support price of Rs4,500 per maund under its new National Wheat Policy, which also includes a strategy to maintain strategic reserves of up to six million metric tonnes to safeguard national requirements, Federal Minister for National Food Security & Research Rana Tanveer Hussain said.

KPT facilitates 51,000 tons of wheat handling
Karachi Port Trust (KPT) is facilitating the handling of a bulk cargo of 51,000 metric tons of imported wheat at Karachi Gateway Terminal Multipurpose Limited (KGTML), after the geared vessel MV GOKOVA M arrived at the port, with a second wheat vessel expected on November 3.

Govt says wheat stocks stable, more supply available if needed
The government has decided to release wheat stocks to the provinces under the MoUs signed with the Pakistan Agricultural Storage and Services Corporation (PASSCO), assuring that additional supplies will be made available whenever required to meet emerging demand.
