KPT facilitates 51,000 tons of wheat handling

October 29, 2026 (MLN): Karachi Port Trust (KPT) is facilitating the handling of a bulk cargo of 51,000 metric tons of imported wheat at Karachi Gateway Terminal Multipurpose Limited (KGTML), after the geared vessel MV GOKOVA M arrived at the port, with a second wheat vessel expected on November 3.

According to a KPT statement, MV GOKOVA M, which has a declared manifest of 51,000 metric tons of wheat, reached the port at 12:25 hours on October 28, 2026, and was allocated Berths 16 and 17.

The second geared vessel, MV GREAT RAINBOW, is carrying 59,132.19 metric tons of wheat and is due on November 3, 2026, APP reported.

Together, the two vessels bring a declared wheat volume of over 110,000 metric tons.

The KPT spokesperson noted that the arrivals reflect the port’s capacity to handle bulk commodities through KGTML, support essential commodity imports and keep cargo operations efficient.
