Symmetry Group sees profit growth of nearly 28% YoY

April 30, 2025 (MLN):  Symmetry Group Limited (PSX: SYM) reported a 27.5% increase in profit after taxation for the nine-month period ended March 31, 2025, reaching Rs145.2 million compared to Rs113.86m in the same period of 2024.

The company’s earnings per share (EPS) stood at Rs0.51, up from Rs0.4 in the same period last year.

Net revenue rose by 58% YoY, reaching Rs586.25m compared to Rs371.02m in the same period last year.

The growth in revenue was accompanied by a 69.6% increase in the cost of services, which amounted to Rs248.93m versus Rs146.76m in 2024.

Despite the rise in costs, gross profit increased by 50.7%, totaling Rs337.95m for the period.

Administrative expenses also climbed significantly, rising by 63.3% YoY to Rs153.98m from Rs94.3m in the prior year.

The company’s operating profit posted a 41.6% increase, reaching Rs183.97m compared to Rs129.96m in the corresponding period last year.

However, finance costs surged by 153.7%, totaling Rs30.18m compared to Rs11.9m in 2024, putting pressure on margins.

Other income dropped by 29.6% to Rs10.56m, while other expenses rose substantially to Rs1.18m from Rs15,000 last year.

As a result, the company recorded a 21.5% increase in profit before taxation, amounting to Rs161.67m.

Taxation expenses stood at Rs16.47m, down 14.2% from Rs19.2m in the same period last year, supporting the company’s overall profitability.
