Shaukat Tarin sworn in as finance minister

December 27, 2021 (MLN): Shaukat Fayaz Ahmed Tarinn has taken oath as Finance Minister today as per which he would be holding the portfolio of Minister for Finance.

President Dr. Arif Alvi administered the oath while the swearing-in ceremony was held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad. 

The president extended the heartiest felicitation to the newly-sworn member of the federal cabinet.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, In his felicitating statement, said Shaukat Tarin's efforts are commendable for stabilizing the economy, poverty alleviation, and promotion of construction industry in the country under the vision of the Prime Minister, as per reported by Radio Pakistan. 

The Minister expressed the confidence that Shaukat Tarin will play an important role in the economic progress of the country. He said the business community has expectations from Shaukat Tarin.

Shaukat Tarin, who was earlier serving as Finance Advisor, was elected as senator last week in the by-election for a general seat of the Senate from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The seat was vacated after the resignation of PTI’s Ayub Afridi.
