September inflation eases to 23.2%YoY

October 1, 2022 (MLN): Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation during the month of September clocked in at 23.18%YoY and -1.2%MoM primarily due to 65%MoM reduction in electricity charges, latest data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) showed on Saturday.

“CPI inflation General, increased to 23.2% on year-on-year basis in Sep 2022 as compared to an increase of 27.3% in the previous month and 9.0% in Sep 2021”, the PBS said in the press release.

On month-on-month basis, inflation in September decreased by 1.2% as compared to an increase of 2.4% in August.
