SBP to remain closed on November 09 on account of Iqbal Day

November 06, 2023 (MLN): The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on Thursday, November 09, 2023, on the occasion of ‘Iqbal Day’ as declared by the Government of Pakistan, the latest notice issued by the central bank showed.

The holiday will be observed throughout the country.

November 09 is observed as Iqbal Day to honor the birthday of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the national philosopher, poet, and politician of Pakistan.

Allama Iqbal was born on November 09, 1877, and he played an instrumental role in inspiring millions of Muslims across the subcontinent to seek an independent homeland.
