SBP to announce Monetary Policy this Thursday

January 29, 2019 (MLN): The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will announce monetary policy for the next two months on Thursday, January 31, 2019.

A meeting of the monetary policy committee (MPC) is scheduled to take place the same day in Islamabad, where the committee will decide on the key policy rate. Following this meeting, SBP governor Mr. Tariq Bajwa will address a press conference to unveil the Monetary Policy decision.

The previous meeting of the committee took place on November 30, 2018 when the SBP aggressively pushed up policy rate by 150 basis points to 10 percent.
