SBP calls for applications from eligible institutions for primary dealer appointment

May 15, 2023 (MLN): The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has invited applications from eligible institutions for appointment as Primary Dealer, Preliminary Primary Dealer, or Special Purpose Primary Dealer of Government Securities for the fiscal year 2023-24.

This opportunity is in accordance with rule C-1 of the Rules Governing Primary Dealer System.

The objective of this call application is to select institutions that will actively participate in the trading and distribution of Government Securities, including Pakistan Investment Bonds and Market Treasury Bills.

These appointed dealers will play a vital role in facilitating the smooth functioning of the government securities market.

Interested institutions are encouraged to review the selection criteria, the application process, privileges, obligations, and performance criteria specified in the aforementioned master circular on Primary Dealer rules.
