Sakrand Sugar Mills to start production of Organic Compost Fertilizer

November 30, 2018 (MLN): Sakrand Sugar Mills Limited shall start commercial production of organic compost fertilizer this season 2018-19, to be exported to countries with a focus on organic farming, targeting 5,000-7,000 MT of fertilizer, a notification to PSX by the company said on Friday.

This is the result of by-product processing against which the company expects a significant increase in earnings bringing in precious foreign exchange to the country, the announcement added.

This shall add further income, expected up to Rs. 3 to the earning per share of the company, under Final Tax Regime (FTR) at 1% of Exports Proceeds.

Furthermore, a portion of the production shall be supplied to local growers as fertilizers loan to help them in farming and achieving high yields and better sucrose recovery
