RDA surpasses $4bn: SBP

April 11, 2022 (MLN): While refuting the fake news on social media pertaining to large withdrawals from the Roshan Digital Account (RDA), the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has informed that total inflows in RDA have now surpassed $4 billion.
Taking its official Twitter handle, the central bank clarified, “So far in April, inflows are very strong at around $86 million and there are no abnormal outflows.”
Since the start of the RDA, a banking facility for Pakistani abroad, the outgoing government had made a number of decisions to make the scheme more attractive by reducing the tax compliance costs.
Further, the government had made the taxation system easy, convenient, and hassle-free for NRPs to open and operate these accounts without being physically present in the country.
