Banks extend hours for tax payments until June 30

June 25, 2026 (MLN): Commercial banks and NBP branches handling customs collections have been directed to extend their working hours from June 27 to June 30, 2026, to facilitate the payment of government duties and taxes through Over-the-Counter (OTC) and Alternate Delivery Channels (ADCs), on the request of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

All Saturday-opening branches of commercial banks, along with NBP branches handling customs collections, will remain open from 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM on Saturday, June 27.

For the following weekdays, extended working hours will be observed as follows: until 08:00 PM on Monday, June 29, and until 10:00 PM on Tuesday, June 30. NBP branches handling customs collections will remain open until 11:59 PM on June 30, according to the press release. 

Banks have also been instructed to keep their branches operational beyond the stipulated hours, where required, to facilitate the Special Clearing of government transactions processed by the National Institutional Facilitation Technologies (NIFT).

Furthermore, banks are required to ensure uninterrupted availability of digital payment channels including internet banking, mobile banking applications, ATMs, and other online platforms throughout the period to enable seamless online payment of government duties and taxes.
