RDA: March inflows clock in at $5.96bn

April 11, 2023 (MLN): Foreign exchange inflows through Roshan Digital Account (RDA) in March 2023 reached $5.96 billion, since its launch in September 2020, the latest data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) showed today.

A few days earlier, SBP unveiled the data of inflows through RDA as of April 07, 2023, which have surpassed the mark of $6bn.

Within the 5 working days of April 2023, the overseas Pakistanis deposited $39 million while in the month of March 2023, $155mn was deposited.

The data further revealed that $3.74bn was invested in Naya Pakistan Certificates (NPCs) while a $50mn investment has been observed in the equity market through RDA.

As of March 2023, the total amount invested in NPCs, $1.87bn has been invested in conventional NPCs, while the other half of the amount has been invested in Islamic NPCs.

A total of 549,445 accounts have been opened from around 175 counties across different Pakistani banks.
