PTA receives over Rs70 billion from Jazz, Telenor for license renewal

September 5, 2019 (MLN): Jazz and Telenor have made 50% payment, amounting to Rs 35.2 billion and $224.6 million respectively, for the renewal of their cellular licenses.

On the recommendations of Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, federal cabinet had issued a policy directive for renewal of these licenses.

This development will not only contribute towards uninterrupted provision of better telecom services to the people of Pakistan but will also help in promotion of competition and investment in the telecom sector.

All license renewal proceeds would be deposited in national exchequer.
