February 18, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Tuesday's trading session at 113,088.47, showing an increase of 1,344.94 points or 1.20%.

The index traded in a range of 1,610.52 points showing an intraday high of 113,252.54 (+1,509.01) and a low of 111,642.02 (-101.51) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 348.50 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 72 closed up, 27 closed down, while 1 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were BOP (+8.71%), PGLC (+8.30%), BNWM (+7.83%), FCEPL (+6.07%), and GLAXO (+5.10%).

On the other hand, top losers were MEHT (-9.39%), TRG (-3.15%), PABC (-2.53%), EFUG (-2.29%), and KOSM (-2.01%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were LUCK (+158.18pts), OGDC (+132.14pts), ENGROH (+119.02pts), EFERT (+110.18pts), and PPL (+88.42pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were MEHT (-38.73pts), TRG (-22.59pts), FATIMA (-10.14pts), PSEL (-9.67pts), and MCB (-8.23pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Cement (+287.68pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+265.97pts), Commercial Banks (+253.55pts), Fertilizer (+144.73pts), and Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+120.11pts).

While the index was let down by Textile Composite (-30.72pts), Miscellaneous (-17.59pts), Technology & Communication (-15.58pts), Sugar & Allied Industries (-3.89pts), and Tobacco (-3.85pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 70,076.70 with a net gain of 809.42 points or 1.17%.

Total market volume was 545.01 million shares compared to 511.19m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs20.74 billion showing an increase of Rs1.11bn.

There were 234,095 trades reported in 446 companies with 255 closing up, 139 closing down, and 52 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 34,644 points or 44.16% during the fiscal year, whereas it has decreased 2,038 points or 1.77% so far this calendar year.
