May 25, 2023 (MLN): The capital market on Thursday opened on a positive note but soon succumbed to the volatile trading session which led the benchmark KSE-100 index to lose 87.65 points, closing at 41,029.67.

The index traded in a range of 262.15 points showing an intraday high of 41,219.02 and a low of 40,956.87.

The total Volume of the KSE100 Index was 66.782 million shares.

Of the companies in KSE100 34 closed up, 55 closed down, 6 were unchanged while 5 remained untraded.

KSE100 Index was let down by Technology & Communication with 71.03, Commercial Banks with 22.78, Textile Composite with 10.59, Pharmaceuticals with 8.27 and Leather & Tanneries with 7.01 points.

Companies dragging the index lower were TRG with 60.75, HBL with 12.33, NML with 10.24, ABL with 7.83 and SRVI with 7.01 points.

KSE100 index was supported by Cement with 29.67, Glass & Ceramics with 10.89, Fertilizer with 10.46, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 8.88 and Chemical with 3.81 points.

Companies adding points to the index were LUCK with 26.86, OGDC with 9.22, HMB with 8.06, TGL with 7.79 and UBL with 7.13 points.

In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 27,427.72 with a net loss of 57.5 points.

The total market volume was 125.345 million shares with traded value being recorded at 4.03 billion.

There were 74,123 trades reported in 320 companies with 109 closing up, 181 closing down and 30 remaining unchanged.
