July 04, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Friday's trading session at 131,949.06, showing an increase of 1,262.41 points or 0.97%.

The index remained positive throughout the day, showing an intraday high of 132,129.60 (+1,442.95) and a low of 130,716.10 (+29.45) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 198.95 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 60 closed up, 37 closed down, while 3 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were AICL (+9.08%), UBL (+5.70%), HBL (+5.55%), UNITY (+5.49%), and SYS (+4.68%).

On the other hand, top losers were PGLC (-5.49%), BNWM (-4.67%), MUGHAL (-2.31%), GHGL (-2.17%), and FFC (-2.15%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were UBL (+517.38pts), HBL (+203.10pts), SYS (+168.43pts), BAHL (+135.30pts), and MCB (+122.35pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were FFC (-253.58pts), PPL (-61.30pts), ENGROH (-50.26pts), MARI (-43.12pts), and OGDC (-39.05pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Commercial Banks (+1228.11pts), Technology & Communication (+180.88pts), Insurance (+49.11pts), Automobile Assembler (+48.82pts), and Food & Personal Care Products (+44.29pts).

While the index was let down by Fertilizer (-218.81pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-125.22pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-44.15pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-22.25pts), and Glass & Ceramics (-12.56pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 82,069.25 with a net gain of 764.00 points or 0.94%.

Total market volume was 733.08 million shares compared to 899.85m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs34.94 billion showing a decrease of Rs8.31bn.

There were 372,049 trades reported in 472 companies with 254 closing up, 177 closing down, and 41 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 6,322 points or 5.03% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 16,822 points or 14.61% so far this calendar year.
