April 15, 2024 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 index concluded Monday's trading session at 70,544.58 showing an increase of 229.86 points or 0.33%.

The index traded in a range of 694.78 points showing an intraday high of 70,608.88 (+294.17) and a low of 69,914.11 (-400.61) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 index was 255.765 million shares.

Advancers to decliners remained equally distributed, with 45 companies closing up and 49 closing down.

Meanwhile 2 were unchanged and 4 remained untraded.

KSE-100 index was supported by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 130.86, Power Generation & Distribution with 127.63, Cement with 56.51, Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 33.43, and Commercial Banks with 25.03 points.

On the contrary, the index was let down by Technology & Communication with 51.71, Fertilizer with 43.37, Pharmaceuticals with 28.49, Textile Composite with 22.84, and Automobile Assembler with 16.45 points.

Companies adding points to the index were HUBC with 107.41, OGDC with 97.99, UBL with 67.81, PPL with 34.79, and PSO with 33.6 points.

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were MCB with 88.09, SYS with 41.1, EFERT with 40.1, BAHL with 37.18 and ENGRO with 35.65 points.

In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 46,350.04 with a net gain of 308.06 points.

Total market volume was 555.215 million shares compared to 389.397 from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs21.99 billion showing an increase of Rs4.71bn.

There were 233,900 trades reported in 352 companies with 179 closing up, 156 closing down and 17 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 29,092 points or 70.18% during the fiscal year, whereas the ongoing calendar year has witnessed a cumulative increase of 8,094 points, equivalent to 12.96%.
