January 27, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Monday's trading session at 113,520.32, showing a decrease of 1,360.16 points or 1.18%.

The index traded in a range of 2,114.65 points showing an intraday high of 115,596.87 (+716.39) and a low of 113,482.22 (-1,398.26) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 231.20 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 17 closed up, 77 closed down, while 6 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were MARI (-8.23%), PGLC (-7.56%), POML (-5.89%), SHEL (-5.65%), and SNGP (-5.45%).

On the other hand, top gainers were PTC (+3.36%), SYS (+3.07%), PKGP (+2.80%), UPFL (+1.83%), and EFERT (+1.62%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were MARI (-374.65pts), ENGROH (-144.59pts), PSO (-99.99pts), HUBC (-86.41pts), and PPL (-76.69pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were SYS (+101.64pts), EFERT (+70.51pts), FFC (+44.29pts), POL (+36.81pts), and BAHL (+28.50pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-483.96pts), Commercial Banks (-220.02pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-175.48pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-157.53pts), and Cement (-126.82pts).

While the index was supported by Fertilizer (+116.13pts), Technology & Communication (+59.23pts), Cable & Electrical Goods (+7.91pts), Tobacco (+1.40pts), and Close - End Mutual Fund (+1.29pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 69,974.09 with a net loss of 948.86 points or 1.34%.

Total market volume was 494.00 million shares compared to 632.03m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs25.94 billion showing a decrease of Rs11.86bn.

There were 306,107 trades reported in 442 companies with 97 closing up, 298 closing down, and 47 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 35,075 points or 44.71% during the fiscal year, whereas it has decreased 1,607 points or 1.40% so far this calendar year.
