July 13, 2022 (MLN): The domestic equities witnessed a range-bound activity during the first half of the trading session on Wednesday. However, as soon as the rumors of the IMF staff-level agreement to be concluded by tonight came in, strong buying was observed across the board, leading the benchmark KSE-100 index to close in green.

Making an intraday high of 627 points, the index concluded the trading session with a gain of 518.76 points or 1.25 percent to close at 41,862.77.

The Index traded in a range of 742.75 points or 1.80 percent of previous close, showing an intraday low of 41,227.84.

Of the 91 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 69 closed up 18 closed down, while 4 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 80.81 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Commercial Banks with 140 points, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 103 points, Technology & Communication with 71 points, Cement with 65 points and Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 35 points.

The most points added to the index was by OGDC which contributed 51 points followed by PPL with 45 points, MEBL with 44 points, TRG with 36 points and LUCK with 27 points.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Miscellaneous with 2 points, Automobile Parts & Accessories with 1 points, Automobile Assembler with 1 points, Leather & Tanneries with 1 points and Vanaspati & Allied Industries with 1 points.

The most points taken off the index was by EFERT which stripped the index of 7 points followed by ABOT with 5 points, POL with 3 points, INDU with 2 points and SHFA with 2 points.

All Share Volume increased by 65.74 Million to 164.83 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.73.90 Billion.

Total companies traded were 325 compared to 310 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 212 closed up, 90 closed down while 23 remained unchanged.

Total trades increased by 27,344 to 96,995.

Value Traded increased by 2.45 Billion to Rs.6.49 Billion
