October 29, 2021 (MLN): Pakistan equities remained rangebound throughout the day in the absence of positive triggers as the 100-index traded in a range of 563.15 points, showing an intraday high of 46,287.68 and a low of 45,724.53.

The investors seemed concerned about the ongoing staff level review by International Monetary Fund (IMF) as they are still waiting for the final outcome.

Accordingly, the benchmark KSE100 index settled the trading session at 46,184.71 with a gain of 238.62 points.

Of the 95 traded companies in the KSE100 Index, 58 closed up 36 closed down, while 1 remained unchanged. The total volume traded for the index was 137.90 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Cement with 210 points, Commercial Banks with 74 points, Fertilizer with 35 points, Automobile Assembler with 20 points, and Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 16 points.

The most points added to the index was by LUCK which contributed 105 points followed by HBL with 30 points, MLCF with 24 points, CHCC with 22 points and UBL with 20 points.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Technology & Communication with 101 points, Power Generation & Distribution with 44 points, Chemical with 19 points, Refinery with 7 points and Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 7 points.

The most points taken off the index was by TRG which stripped the index of 81 points followed by HUBC with 44 points, MEBL with 28 points, COLG with 18 points and AVN with 12 points.

All Share Volume increased by 40.83 Million to 270.41 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.22.82 Billion.

Total companies traded were 361 compared to 351 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 200 closed up, 146 closed down while 15 remained unchanged.

Total trades increased by 16,923 to 105,869.

Value Traded increased by 2.34 Billion to Rs.9.73 Billion
