January 31, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Friday's trading session at 114,255.72, showing an increase of 1,049.32 points or 0.93%.

The index remained positive throughout the day showing an intraday high of 115,106.99 (+1,900.59) and a low of 113,692.87 (+486.47) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 250.68 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 61 closed up, 37 closed down, while 2 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were NBP (+10.00%), POML (+9.79%), PGLC (+8.58%), AKBL (+8.21%), and LUCK (+6.03%).

On the other hand, top losers were MEHT (-4.18%), UNITY (-2.82%), YOUW (-2.02%), PAEL (-1.92%), and TRG (-1.89%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were UBL (+294.45pts), LUCK (+191.25pts), NBP (+106.34pts), BAHL (+83.73pts), and MEBL (+47.27pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were MARI (-74.34pts), ENGROH (-34.35pts), FFC (-25.19pts), MEHT (-20.52pts), and SNGP (-14.71pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Commercial Banks (+704.18pts), Cement (+266.41pts), Automobile Assembler (+77.22pts), Technology & Communication (+47.54pts), and Automobile Parts & Accessories (+29.18pts).

While the index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-45.69pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-32.32pts), Fertilizer (-32.14pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-18.65pts), and Cable & Electrical Goods (-10.82pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 70,604.11 with a net gain of 491.99 points or 0.70%.

Total market volume was 543.12 million shares compared to 483.94m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs27.97 billion showing an increase of Rs1.87bn.

There were 306,892 trades reported in 454 companies with 234 closing up, 164 closing down, and 56 remaining unchanged.
