February 04, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Tuesday's trading session at 111,935.38, showing a decrease of 809.63 points or 0.72%.
The index traded in a range of 1,820.97 points showing an intraday high of 113,649.07 (+904.06) and a low of 111,828.10 (-916.91) points.
The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 170.64 million shares.
Of the 100 index companies 32 closed up, 66 closed down, while 2 were unchanged.
Top losers during the day were POML (-5.47%), MEHT (-4.80%), MTL (-4.51%), PKGP (-4.48%), and PTC (-4.01%).
On the other hand, top gainers were AICL (+7.37%), SAZEW (+7.34%), TRG (+3.89%), NBP (+3.70%), and PAEL (+3.14%).
In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were ENGROH (-123.07pts), FFC (-93.02pts), MTL (-84.54pts), BAHL (-69.37pts), and PPL (-60.02pts).
Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were SAZEW (+53.51pts), NBP (+43.11pts), MARI (+30.13pts), AICL (+29.53pts), and TRG (+28.62pts).
Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Commercial Banks (-237.48pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-121.82pts), Fertilizer (-112.52pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-105.06pts), and Automobile Assembler (-58.55pts).
While the index was supported by Technology & Communication (+34.69pts), Insurance (+29.53pts), Miscellaneous (+26.91pts), Food & Personal Care Products (+22.05pts), and Cable & Electrical Goods (+16.51pts).
In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 69,366.16 with a net loss of 489.76 points or 0.70%.
Total market volume was 436.32 million shares compared to 401.46m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs23.23 billion showing an increase of Rs2.87bn.
There were 260,801 trades reported in 440 companies with 129 closing up, 255 closing down, and 56 remaining unchanged.
