December 08, 2022 (MLN): Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed a dull trading session on Thursday as the investors remained cautious on the political noise, which led the market to close in the negative zone.

As a result, the benchmark KSE-100 index lost 107.87 points (0.26% DoD) to close at 41,711.42.

The benchmark KSE-100 index made an intraday high of 41,927.38 and an intraday low of 41,927.38 during the day.

By the session’s end, the total volumes of the KSE-100 index stood at 28.66mn shares, decreased by 58.72% DoD from 69.42mn shares traded last week Friday.

Shares of 87 companies were traded on Thursday, of which 63 recorded a fall, 21 registered an increase, whereas three remains unchanged.

In terms of sectors, most of the negative contributors were cement, commercial banks, and technology which negatively contributed 94.05 points. On the flip side, the miscellaneous closed the session positively, gaining 36.59 points by the day’s end.

Meanwhile, the volume leaders on the benchmark index were SNGP (4.68mn), YOUW (3.28mn), PIOC (2.42mn), CNERGY (1.13mn), and KEL (1.09mn).

The stocks that emerged as net losers during the day included: HINOON (2.35%), SRVI (1.61), SHFA 4.62%), ICI (0.74%), and CHCC (2.89%). On the other hand, the scrips which gained the most during the session included PSEL (7.50%), MTL (1.02%), DAWH (1.99%), MARI (0.11%), and ENGRO (0.45%).
