November 13, 2024 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Wednesday's trading session at 93,355.42, showing an increase of 130.86 points or 0.14%.

The index traded in a range of 860.51 points showing an intraday high of 93,803.58 (+579.02) and a low of 92,943.07 (-281.49) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 295.67 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 40 closed up, 57 closed down, while 3 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were GHGL (+10.02%), SEARL (+9.97%), MARI (+7.07%), PKGS (+5.73%), and KOSM (+4.78%).

On the other hand, top losers were MEHT (-8.33%), FCEPL (-6.22%), NCPL (-6.13%), BNWM (-3.89%), and NPL (-3.70%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were MARI (+235.63pts), LUCK (+81.99pts), SEARL (+64.97pts), DAWH (+50.25pts), and ENGRO (+43.17pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were OGDC (-96.44pts), FFC (-74.29pts), MEBL (-42.08pts), BAHL (-40.29pts), and MEHT (-33.39pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+150.54pts), Cement (+91.44pts), Pharmaceuticals (+78.60pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+49.00pts), and Glass & Ceramics (+40.71pts).

While the index was let down by Commercial Banks (-99.67pts), Power Generation & Distribution (-64.20pts), Automobile Assembler (-36.30pts), Fertilizer (-34.48pts), and Textile Composite (-31.97pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 59,809.51 with a net gain of 101.34 points or 0.17%.

Total market volume was 807.07 million shares compared to 792.90m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs31.69 billion showing an increase of Rs0.90bn.

There were 354,945 trades reported in 449 companies with 195 closing up, 191 closing down, and 63 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 14,910 points or 19.01% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 30,904 points or 49.49% so far this calendar year.
