PSX Closing Bell: All I Do Is Win

March 19, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Wednesday's trading session at 117,974.02, marking the highest ever closing with an increase of 972.93 points or 0.83%.

The index traded in a range of 1,360.83 points showing an intraday high of 118,243.63 (+1,242.54) and a low of 116,882.80 (-118.29) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 301.11 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 59 closed up, 38 closed down, while 3 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were PAEL (+7.10%), TRG (+5.54%), NCPL (+5.12%), NPL (+5.08%), and HUBC (+4.80%).

On the other hand, top losers were PGLC (-4.24%), MUREB (-1.86%), AICL (-1.64%), AKBL (-1.63%), and PSEL (-1.41%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were HUBC (+208.17pts), MARI (+91.20pts), ENGROH (+81.95pts), SYS (+72.50pts), and PPL (+57.28pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were FFC (-23.65pts), EFERT (-16.44pts), POL (-14.05pts), PSEL (-12.02pts), and HMB (-11.82pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Power Generation & Distribution (+230.54pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+185.90pts), Cement (+149.31pts), Commercial Banks (+130.93pts), and Technology & Communication (+118.16pts).

While the index was let down by Fertilizer (-32.20pts), Food & Personal Care Products (-15.20pts), Refinery (-13.97pts), Miscellaneous (-12.35pts), and Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-7.87pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 73,025.61 with a net gain of 483.99 points or 0.67%.

Total market volume was 544.20 million shares compared to 449.48m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs32.31 billion showing an increase of Rs3.13bn.

There were 290,247 trades reported in 449 companies with 221 closing up, 157 closing down, and 71 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 39,529 points or 50.39% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 2,847 points or 2.47% so far this calendar year.
