Power Cement shares progress report on new line of 7700 TPD project

Power Cement today released the progress report on expansion project to install a new line of 7700 TPD at company’s existing site at Nooriabad, Jamshoro Sindh.

Power Cement announced on 24^th April, 2017 that it is currently embarked upon a brown field expansion of the production capacity at the company’s existing sire by adding a new line of 770 tons per day (estimated 2.5 million tons per annum) taking the total capacity up by 3.4 million tons.

The company today announced that letters of credit for supply of engineering and equipment with Danish firm were established through a consortium of banks. All in all, 34 percent of shipments have already been received and others are expected to arrive within the stipulate time.

“Mechanical and Electrical drawings have been completed up to now by over 95 percent. Mobilization advances in respect of new 40 MW Grid Station have been paid”, read the notice.

The company further informed that the construction and mechanical erection work was awarded to Chinese contractor “CECC Tianjin (Pakistan) Electric Power Construction (Pvt) Limited for an amount of Rs. 8 billion. “Up to now, 42% of the civil works have been completed”.
