On Thursday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 3,396.

The traded value of Metals, Energy and COTS/FX was recorded at 4.989 billion and the number of lots traded was 7,924. Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 2.683 billion, followed by currencies through COTS (PKR 946.307 million), WTI crude oil (PKR 451.826 million), silver (PKR 226.485 million), platinum (PKR 195.181 million), DJ (PKR 192.090 million), NSDQ100 (PKR 151.827 million), natural gas (PKR 61.994 million), SP500 (PKR 39.042 million), copper (PKR 22.379 million) and Brent (PKR 18.696 million).

In agricultural commodities, 3 lots of cotton amounting to PKR 1.450 million were traded.
