PKR roars back by 10 rupees per USD in open market

July 04, 2023 (MLN): Continuing its upward momentum on IMF lifeline, the Pakistani rupee (PKR) has gained 10 rupees against the US dollar on Tuesday in the open market as the dollar is being traded at Rs280.

The open market price of the dollar has fallen by Rs32 from its peak of Rs312 on May 30.

Similarly, the local unit has regained its strength against other currencies. The British Pound became cheaper by Rs13 trading at Rs355 compared to Rs368 a day ago.

Likewise, the U.A.E Dirham is currently trading at Rs72.70 down by Rs6.30 from its value of Rs79 a day ago.

Meanwhile, the Saudi Riyal dropped by Rs3.70 from Rs78.06 a day ago to Rs75.4.

Against the Euro, PKR gained Rs8, currently trading at Rs305 compared to the previous value of Rs313 per euro.
