PKR falls 10 paisa per USD

April 18, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) depreciated by 9.76 paisa or 0.03% against the US dollar in Friday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 280.72 per USD, compared to the previous closing of 280.62.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 280.80 and a low (ask) of 280.65.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 280.00 for buying and 282.25 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR strengthened 14.17 paisa or 0.04% against the Euro, closing at 319.18 compared to the previous value of 319.32.

Against the British Pound, PKR deteriorated by 77.48 paisa or 0.21% to 372.39 compared to 371.61 a day ago.

The local unit appreciated 30.02 paisa or 0.09% against Swiss franc to close at 342.94.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value decreased 0.68 paisa or 0.35% to close the session at 1.9717 versus 1.9649 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee depreciated 1.54 paisa or 0.04% against Chinese Yuan to close at 38.46 from 38.45.

The local currency weakened by 3.20 paisa or 0.04% against Saudi Riyal to 74.82. While it decreased by 2.65 paisa or 0.03% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.43.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has decreased against the US Dollar by 2.38 rupees or 0.85%. While it has fell 2.17 rupees or 0.77% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates unchanged by 0bps to 11.84% and 12.09%.
