PKR falls 25 paisa per USD

July 14, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) deteriorated by 25.61 paisa or 0.09% against the US dollar in Monday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 284.72 per USD, compared to previous closing of 284.46.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 286 and a low (ask) of 287.65.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 286.00 for buying and 287.50 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR deteriorated 35.61 paisa or 0.11% against the Euro, closing at 332.75 compared to the previous value of 332.39.

Against the British Pound, PKR increased by 96.32 paisa or 0.25% to 384.01 compared to 384.97 a day ago.

The local unit decreased 20.92 paisa or 0.06% against Swiss franc to close at 357.14.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value appreciated 0.22 paisa or 0.11% to close the session at 1.9343 versus 1.9365 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee depreciated 4.62 paisa or 0.12% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.71 from 39.67.

The local currency decreased by 7.03 paisa or 0.09% against Saudi Riyal to 75.92. While it weakened by 6.86 paisa or 0.09% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 77.51.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has decreased against the US Dollar by 95.10 paisa or 0.33%. While it has depreciated 6.17 rupees or 2.17% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates unchanged by 0bps to 10.78% and 11.03%.
