PKR decreases by 7 paisa against USD

November 12, 2024 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) fell by 6.55 paisa or 0.02% against the US dollar in Tuesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 277.93 per USD, compared to previous closing of 277.86.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 278.05 and a low (ask) of 277.95.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 276.83 for buying and 278.74 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR strengthened 1.57 rupees or 0.53% against the Euro, closing at 295.45 compared to the previous value of 297.02.

Against the British Pound, PKR increased by 2.25 rupees or 0.63% to 356.01 compared to 358.26 a day ago.

The local unit strengthened 1.04 rupees or 0.33% against Swiss franc to close at 315.41.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR remained stable at 1.8076.

Pakistani Rupee increased 23.69 paisa or 0.61% against Chinese Yuan to close at 38.42 from 38.66.

The local currency deteriorated by 1.35 paisa or 0.02% against Saudi Riyal to 73.99. While it fell by 1.89 paisa or 0.02% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 75.67.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has gained against the US Dollar by 41.47 paisa or 0.15%. While it has rose 3.93 rupees or 1.42% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 1 bps to 13.08% and 13.33%.
