PKR appreciates by 16 paisa at interbank trade

June 18, 2019 (MLN): Pakistani rupee (PKR) appreciated by 16 paisa against US Dollar (USD) in today's interbank session as the currency closed the day's trade at PKR 156.81 per USD, against yesterday's closing of PKR 156.96 per USD.

The Rupee endured a volatile trading session, with the value of the currency trading in a range of .65 Rupee per USD showing an intraday high bid of 157 and an intraday Low offer of 156.5

Meanwhile, the currency gained 2.5 rupees against the Pound Sterling as the day's closing quote stood at PKR 196.58 per GBP, while the previous session closed at PKR 197.54 per GBP.

Similarly, PKR's value strengthened by 66 paisa against EUR which closed at PKR 175.39 at the interbank today.

Within the Open Market, PKR was traded at 155/157 per USD.

On another note, within the money market, the overnight repo rate towards close of the session was 12.30/12.40 percent, whereas the 1 week rate was 12.30/12.40 percent.
