Petrol price again reduced by over Rs2 per litre

September 30, 2024 (MLN): For the fifth consecutive fortnight, the government has reduced the price of petrol by Rs2.07 to 247.03 a litre.

The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has also been reduced by Rs3.4 to Rs246.29 per litre, as per a notification shared by the Finance Division.

Furthermore, the per litre rates for kerosene and light diesel oil have been reduced by Rs3.57 and Rs1.03, bringing them to Rs154.9 and Rs140.9, respectively

This takes the government's total reduction in the price of petrol to Rs28.57 per litre in the past 2.5 months.

The new prices are effective from October 01 and will remain in place for the first half.

To recall, in the last fortnight, the government reduced the price of petrol by Rs10 to Rs249.1 per litre.

Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) was slashed by Rs13.06 to Rs249.69 per litre.
