Govt lowers petrol price by Rs10 per litre

September 15, 2024 (MLN): For the fourth consecutive fortnight, the government has reduced the price of petrol by Rs10 to 249.1 a litre.

The petroleum levy was left unchanged at Rs60 per litre.

The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has also been slashed by Rs13.06 to Rs249.69 per litre, as per a notification shared by the Finance Division.

Over the past two months, the government has reduced the price of petrol by a cumulative Rs26.5 per litre.

The new prices are effective from September 16 and will remain in place for the remainder of the month.

To recall, in the last fortnight, the government reduced the price of petrol by Rs1.86 to Rs259.1 per litre.

Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) was slashed by Rs3.32 to Rs262.75 per litre.
